We are committed to self-consumption of electricity in our Villamanín and La Robla factory.
This year, we wanted to strengthen our commitment to the environment by investing in renewable energies, integrating solar panels in both our factorys, Villamanín and La Robla, which will help reduce our carbon footprint.
As part of these sustainable measures, we have made an important investment that allows us to continue consolidating our growth through an increasingly efficient and sustainable business model.
One of the main reasons for this investment is the high consumption of electricity generated by the food industry, with an average monthly consumption of 420,000 kWh.
On the other hand, due to the volatility of the electricity market, any increase in the price of electricity, as has been the case in recent months, results in a significant increase in our costs, making us less competitive in the market and directly affecting our income statement.
The installation of 613 kWh of solar panels and eight Kostal PIKO CI 60 inverters allows us to obtain 480 kWh of nominal photovoltaic self-consumption. Thanks to this, we can say that we will produce at least 20% of the energy we consume.
